The Crestron Huddle Room

Posted by Dan Jackson on Jul 23, 2015 11:00:00 AM

huddle roomThe workplace is constantly reinventing itself, demanding new technology to make enterprise collaboration and sharing much easier. In a hectic work environment, space can be limited and hooking up technology can be time consuming. That’s why growing businesses need more convenient and technology packed spaces accessible for conferencing and presenting.

Huddle rooms are small, interactive rooms that help increase productivity through state-of-the-art technology, and unite coworkers for presenting, collaborating, and decision making. With Crestron solutions, these small spaces become powerful, and can make any meeting or presentation easier than ever before.

Crestron Connect It™ (TT-100)

TT-100

One amazing Crestron solution for a huddle room is the Crestron Connect It Cable Caddy, TT-100. When you’re in a huddle room with other coworkers and you need to show them a spread sheet or presentation, you want to be able to connect devices fast and hassle-free. The TT-100 is easy to set up and allows you to connect devices through HDMI®, VGA, Audio, and Ethernet. Each connector cable is stored in the TT-100, so you can pull out the cable and simply plug it in to your device. After it’s plugged in, press the button on the interface and your content is instantly shown on the display. You can toggle between connected devices by pressing the button on the caddy. The TT-100 integrates seamlessly with DigitalMedia™, is 4K compatible, and comes in four different models.

Huddle Room Presentation Switchers

At the heart of every huddle room is a system that controls it all.  The Crestron 3-Series® 4K DigitaMedia Presentation System 150 (DMPS3-4K-150-C), as well as the 4K Scaling Presentation Switcher (HD-MD8X1-4K) and the 4K Scaling Presentation Switcher with HDBaseT® Output (DM-MD8X1-4K-C), are nothing short of perfection with the ability to easily and seamlessly connect and control any device in the room, as well as manage and switch between multiple AV sources. They support resolutions up to 4096x2160 and have a built-in Crestron Connect It functionality, so you can connect up to four TT-100 interfaces. These systems can be mounted under a table or in an equipment rack, making the huddle room look clean and tech-free and are already integrated with Crestron Fusion® software so even simple huddle spaces can be managed on the network. These systems are ready to go right out of the box with no necessary programming thanks to .AV Framework™, the grounding breaking  OS and plug-and-play solution that allows for easy setup straight from an iPad®, laptop, or the preloaded 7” touch screen (TSW-752-B-DMPS3_PAK).  Adding more power and convenience to your huddle room, these switchers automatically know when a source is connected to AirMedia™, making wireless BYOD presentation fast and simple. Simply turn it on, connect a device, and present.

DMPS3-4K-150-C

AirMedia (AM-100)

As you enter the huddle room you take out your smartphone, which you always have on you, open your email with the presentation in it, and seamlessly display the content from your phone to the room display through the Crestron AirMedia app.

With AirMedia, you can share content wirelessly via iOS® or Android™ mobile device, any Mac® or Windows® notebook, and tablets. AirMedia can connect up to 32 devices and features ‘moderator mode,’ which allows a host to keep meetings productive and control whose content is being displayed, whether from a web page or huddle room touch screen. The AirMedia app can also be silently deployed to computers across the enterprise, saving a tremendous amount of time and ensuring everyone in your organization is able to connect and present with a single mouse click.

Crestron Talks IoT and Collaborative Solutions at Microsoft® Worldwide Partner Conference 2015

Posted by Joseph Sarrasin on Jul 17, 2015 3:39:00 PM

Crestron was chosen by Microsoft® to participate at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2015, held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando from July 12-16. The WPC welcomed Microsoft partners from around the world and provided the opportunity for partners and customers to learn about the future of the company, hear from industry thought-leaders, attend presentations, and network with top tech executives from all over the world.

WPC

Crestron helped kick off the WPC with a pre-show event discussing and demonstrating Microsoft Surface™ Hub with integrated Crestron solutions. With more than two years of collaboration between Microsoft and Crestron, the Surface hub unlocks the power of the group, while Crestron control and automation products, and enterprise AV technologies unlock the full power of the meeting space. With the new .AV Framework™, integrated Surface Hub solutions require no programming and are ready to use right out of the box.

Kor Baydurcan, Crestron’s Director of Software Products and Enterprise Solutions, joined a panel of Microsoft partners, including Linda Morant and Allan Young, to present the best practices for designing solutions that leverage Microsoft Internet of Things (IoT) and cloud technology. Throughout the panel, he discussed Crestron Pyng™, the revolutionary home automation app and how IoT changes the way people interact with their residential or commercial settings through dynamic system learning, which shapes to the user’s life style and improves performance while remaining energy efficient.

When it comes to IoT, this isn’t the first time Crestron has been recognized as a thought leader. At the opening keynote during InfoComm 15, CTO of Crestron, Fred Bargetzi, spoke exclusively on the opportunities IoT provides and how connecting, managing, and personalizing network solutions help us interact with our technology and push a business forward.

Meanwhile, at the Microsoft device bar on the showroom floor, both Crestron Pyng and the MC3 3-Series Control System® were displayed. These Crestron solutions leverage IoT and cloud technology and wowed conference goers with intelligent control and automation capabilities, whether in the home or across the enterprise.

BeTerrific with Vincent Bruno

Vin Bruno BeTerrificCrestron Director of Customer Experience, Vincent Bruno, joined BeTerrific for a live interview on digital signage and Crestron. During the interview, he talks about how Crestron switchers, distribution amplifiers, scalers, and control processors allow flexibility and control by routing sources from a smart phone or tablet to display digital signage. He also mentions the Crestron HQ Experience Center, which displays a 3x3 video wall routed simultaneously in different formats, such as 4K and 1080p. One amazing digital signage feature at InfoComm, an 8.3 million pixel 4K display, was driven entirely by Crestron DigitalMedia™ 4K products.

Preparing for the Changing Workplace

The IMCCA hosted a panel with presentations about how to prepare for the changing workplace. Going from paper to digital, IT, HR, and facilities are collaborating to enable employee productivity and interaction. To do so, managers need to reconfigure the workplace by providing employees with easy-to-use tools. The panel included Crestron Director of Unified Communications, Michael Goldman, as well as representatives from Cisco®, Polycom®, and others. They addressed audience concerns, such as how to make workplace technology easy to use and reliable.  Michael explained the relevance of workspace technology and how solutions like DM 3.0, .AV Framework, and Crestron Fusion are intuitive, reliable, and easy to use. Crestron presentation switchers are ready to go right out of the box with no training or manuals necessary. .AV Framework ensures the same user experience everywhere in the building and communicates with Crestron Fusion, so the people responsible for managing the software can keep it running smoothly.
